Lie angle and shaft flex: There are two critical areas of each and every golf club, the lie angle and shaft flex. Without the correct lie angle you can have the best swing in the world but the ball will never go to its intended target. Approximately 85% of shafts tested are incorrect. The actual playing flex bears no relation to what is written on the shaft; this is why most golfers do not get the maximum from their clubs. Evidence has shown that a properly fitted set of clubs can improve someone's game by as much as 25% - or to put it another way, bring a 28 handicap down to 21.
Ball fitting: Using the correct ball for your swing speed can dramatically improve your distance and control, for example using the incorrect ball will increase the spin rates on your driver therefore losing distance.
Custom putter fitting: Having the correct length shaft coupled with the correct lie and loft on the putter face will improve your putting.
Shaft PUREing service: (carried out by a third party www.golfsmith-europe.co.uk). This corrects the shaft impurities and locates the most dominant orientation of each shaft enabling them to perform to their optimum. From only £30.00 per shaft.
Custom wedge grinding: Ensuring the wedges you use do actually have enough bounce on the sole, so the club works effectively from all surfaces. We use Tour Van grinders and finishers.

People often ask me "what is the best shaft on the market?" and my reply is always the same, "it's the one that works best for you!"- This may not be what you want to hear but it's unfortunately true. Expensive doesn't necessarily mean the best. However there is possibly one exception to that rule, the Matrix range of shafts (Ozik, X-con and TP) which I have tested thoroughly and stock, these are technically very different from others available on the market today.
As a further point of interest, as every manufacturer creates it's own specification, a regular flex on a Callaway shaft will not play the same as a regular flex on a Mizuno, Titleist, Taylor Made or any other brand. This is highlighted even further, when major shaft manufacturers make shafts for a well known brand, for example Aldila, who make the NVS shaft for the new Cobra Speed range of drivers made to Cobra's spec, if you were to break this shaft and wanted it replaced with another NVS regular, or have the same shaft put in another club, you couldn't, because a True Aldila NVS regular flex will play completely differently from the broken one!
The only way you have a chance of matching that shaft again is to know the playing frequency characteristics once you have bought it, and have it independently tested to obtain a CPM (cycles per minute) figure. You can even send it back to Cobra and have another shaft put in by them that looks exactly the same, but it will not play the same if they do not have the original CPM figure. However, if you have all your equipment analysed by me, all the data is recorded for future reference so each shaft can be matched exactly to the correct frequency, matching the rest of the set!
I offer a FREE OF CHARGE checking service that includes the loft and lies of all your irons, not just one, frequency measuring all the shafts. Via computer software I can precisely check the relative stiffness of each shaft, checking the swing weight, assessing the correct length of clubs for your build and grip size, and all these results are given on a written report. I provide each client with a written report of their current clubs specifications once the checks are complete. (A charge will occur to cover travel expenses if I visit you).
I use specialist computer technology including the Zelocity Launch Monitor, to analyse your golf swing and the current make up of your clubs and then from the data obtained from the testing session, I have the technical expertise to custom fit any standard of player from the beginner to the professional.
